The Yoga Styles I Teach

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa Yoga is a style where smooth transitions between asanas are practiced. Each movement is paired with the breath. Typically, this style is energetic and has many modern spin-offs, for instance Jivamukti Yoga, Power Yoga, Vinyasa Flow Yoga, Power Vinyasa Yoga.

Jivamukti Style Yoga

Jivamukti is a physical, ethical, and spiritual practice, combining a vinyasa-based physical style with adherence to five central tenets: shastra (scripture), bhakti (devotion), ahimsa (nonviolence), nada (music), and dhyana (meditation).

Yin Yoga

This is a slow-paced style, focussing on Yin (calming, moon, feminine) energy. It incorporates principles of traditional Chinese medicine, with asanas that are held for longer periods of time, typically two to five minutes. The postures are meant to stimulate the meridians.

Hatha Yoga

Hatha is one of the oldest forms of Yoga which has birthed most modern yoga forms. "Ha" stands for "sun" and "tha" for "moon". Balancing these two sides, coming into energetic balance is key. Typically, this is a very focused, slower, and calm practice.
