I can’t tell you where I’m going or where I wi I can’t tell you where I’m going or where I will be next. I have no idea. And I love every minute of it! The realm of possibilities is endless. My intuition is my guide. And I have absolutely no intention of ever arriving.

Wait for it…. 3…2…1… surprise! 🦎🌱 T Wait for it.... 3...2...1...
surprise! 🦎🌱

This little guy reminded me last night that in life you never know what is going to happen next.

I’ve not been the biggest fan of surprises, because in the past they’ve had a negative connotation for me. Being caught off guard by tumors is just one - albeit large - example.

Thanks, gecko, for reminding me that surprises are fun! They make us laugh out loud and open us back up to toying around, bringing out qualities we have often forgotten as we’ve grown up. Let your inner child out to play today! It’s worth it.

Anyone who ever said that you can’t completely c Anyone who ever said that you can’t completely change your life in a year, is a fucking liar. I’m now officially proof. Birthdays are always a time for me to reflect on my personal life and career, to take stock of what has happened over the preceding 12 months. This year, the list of changes has been long, shocking, fucking ridiculous, and somehow absolutely perfect.

What would you wish for if you could alter your life right now?

Every time I encounter some place beautiful I stru Every time I encounter some place beautiful I struggle with letting it go as I move on to another.

A few weeks ago, I was struggling with the idea of leaving Mexico. I‘d had the impulse for a while but I’d started thinking about moving on to another country seriously at the end of January. Thinking of leaving those beautiful places behind that had been my home for the first two months of my trip to seek out new adventures had proven difficult.

Coming to terms with the fact that I could have spent my entire year there, because I loved it, was interesting. I had never envisioned myself wanting to stay somewhere for longer than a few weeks. It had been a constant battle with my own expectations and wishes to see as much as I could of the world - I have always had this impulse - versus relaxing and taking things easy, taking time, to heal.

How could I let go? How could I let go of a place that had been my home and been nothing but good to me and for me? Mexico healed a lot of my heart! It healed parts of me that I didn’t think needed healing. And most importantly, it gave me the space and sanctuary to begin healing my body. It gave me a place to reconnect with nature as well as my soul. There, I was able to abandon the idea of having to “do” something specific on this trip and allowed myself “be” whatever I wanted to be. And I thoroughly enjoyed being. Being a yoga teacher. Being a writer. Being a photographer. Being famished. Being present. Being grateful. Being scared. Being whole. Being adventurous. Being alone but not lonely. Being safe. Being.

Beginning something new always involves letting go. And I’ve now come to that point again where I will leave Guatemala in merely a few weeks and I find myself already missing what I have not even lost yet. I always marvel at the way the mind is capable of that. I’m still at the lake, but wonder how it will be later in the mountains, amongst the volcanos, or at the beach. If I should even move at all, because it might not be as nice elsewhere. Thoughts there are no answers to. It is impossible to know what comes next.

This realization about time and abundance has actually been a long journey. The revelation I had was precluded by years of present-moment awareness and continuous practice. It’s a process. It takes patience.

That’s why I thought I’d share some of my favorite practices and reminders as practical things you could integrate into your daily life:

💚 Trying out some Mantras: “Keep your head up and your heart open” to inspire confidence and trust that good things are coming to you
💚 Mantra: “I am abundance”, “I am now”, “I am patient” or whatever works to inspire you (as long as its short, positive and targeted towards the present)
💚 Meditating on abundance and generosity
💚 Breathing deeply, i.e. focusing on your breath for a few minutes a day
💚 Setting daily intentions like “I have time.”, “Time is abundant”
💚 Actively letting go of busyness (go check out Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh, if you don’t know what I mean by “busyness”)
💚 Drinking a cup of tea and doing nothing else, i.e. doing one thing at a time all the time
💚 Letting things come to you instead of chasing them and knowing your circle of influence
💚 Asana practice
💚 Living without your calendar for a day
💚 Writing down the thoughts that eat your time to get them out of your head
💚 Getting enough sleep
💚 Not skipping Savasana ever
💚 …

If you’d like more ideas or want to share your own reach out or comment! 💚🙏🏻

Peace and Love, my friends!
